R U Born Again?   7 comments

Are you Born Again? Are you saved? Where are you going when you pass away?

There is more to life than just working, eating, and relationships. When you close your eyes on earth one day, your eyes will shortly open in another place for eternity – in either heaven a place of paradise and no suffering or hell, a place of terrible torture and fire that never ends. I want you to have a place in heaven when you die. You do not go to heaven by being a ‘good person’, or by ‘not sinning’. ‘You go to heaven by being what Jesus called ‘Born Again.’

Jesus Christ said except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. No-one is born into the faith just because their family is Christian, but you must make a decision to let Jesus Christ come into your heart and be your saviour. Like Prince William and Kate Middleton gave birth to their royal baby boy, you must be born into the kingdom of God by believing and confessing Jesus as Lord – it is not automatic!

Please do not wait for tomorrow. Don’t say ‘I’ll give God more time when I’m older.’ Anything worth doing is worth doing immediatelty. Michael Jackson did not wait until his 40s to uncover his singing and dancing talents. Why wait until you’re older to uncover become serious with the God who made you? And who says you will live to be old todayThe Bible says to remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come. (Ecclesiastes 12:1) Today is better than tomorrow to give your life to Christ.

Read this article if you would like to be saved from your sins, and 100% assured of a place in heaven when you die.

How to Become Born Again

To be Born Again, firstly you must believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the Saviour of the world. He is not just a prophet or a wise man, but he is the Son of God who died on the cross, so that we could have a chance to go heaven. No one is good enough to go to heaven on their own merit (especially me!), because everyone has sinned against God. (Romans 3:23) Without Christ, we are condemned to hell already because we refuse God’s solution to our sins. (John 3:18) But If you will believe in Jesus Christ, you will not perish and go to hell, but you will have the Spirit of God in you, and everlasting life in heaven. (John 3:16)

Secondly, you must ask Him to come into your heart and life, through a simple prayer. Some refer to this a ‘sinner’s prayer‘. There is nothing magical about the words, but it is dependant on your heart. When you do, the Spirit of God will come upon you and convert your soul into a new one – making you born again. With your new spirit, you can now live a new life that you couldn’t before, because you are now the righteousness of God through giving your life to Jesus. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Pray This Prayer to Be Born Again Today

Heavenly Father, I come to you today just as I am. I know that I have sinned against You. Please forgive me. Wash me clean with the blood of Jesus.

I promise to trust in Jesus, Your Son. I believe that He died for me – He took my sin upon Himself when He died on the cross. I believe that He was raised from the dead. I surrender my life to Jesus today.

Lord Jesus, come into my heart today. Be the Saviour of my life, and help me to know You.

Thank You, Father, for Your gift of salvation and eternal life. Please help me to live for you all the days of my life.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you have said this prayer and meant it from the depths of your heart, you are now Born Again, saved and a follower of Jesus! You will have eternal life in heaven when your life on earth is over. I assure you from personal experience, you have made the greatest decision of your life. It does not end here however – you still have a life to live for The Lord. Make sure you turn away from your sins and join a Bible-believing church (like Lighthouse Chapel International) so that you can have a pastor, and good Christian friends to help and influence you.

I would really love to hear from you if you have prayed this prayer, to help you start your new life with the Lord, or just to talk about anything. Please leave a comment below, or send me a message through my Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube pages.

God bless you, and live for Jesus! 🙂

  3. Hi Hazel 🙂 Hope you’re well and safe from the storms…

God most definitely can save you. No-one is too far gone. Bible says for him (or her!) that is joined to all the living there is hope. (Ecclesiastes 9:4) Every day you are alive, you’re within a chance. You say you really struggle to change your ways… We all do. The Bible says Elijah was a man subject to like passions, yet he was one of God’s greatest prophets. I have struggled with sin. Even my most spiritual friends are fighting. You are not alone.

Honestly, the ‘level’ to which you overcome sin is crucial, but not your issue at a point. If God was that concerned with how much we sinned He would have never sent Jesus to die for us while we did things against Him. (Romans 5:8) We are not saved by what we do, we are saved by how close we can stay to God. Being with Him gives us strength and keys to unlock the door to living right.

Why does someone who is a legitimate believer in Christ (like you and me) struggle with sin? When someone is born again, the spirit is the part that is changed for God – not the body. After you pray a ‘sinner’s prayer’, your hair colour didn’t change! Being born again is not a physical change, thus and a mind and habits don’t change on the spot. The spirit is born again – literally – and is now a baby. (1 Peter 2:2) It needs feeding so the whole person can be led by God and be ‘spiritual’. So you, Hazel, need to feed up your spirit with the Word of God. After praying to be and being saved, the next step is to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:1)

The best advice I can give to you is build your relationship with God. Christianity is not a set of rules, but a relationship with our wonderful make Get close to Him by the reading the Bible everyday. Pray to Him everyday whether you feel ‘holy’ or not. Talk to Him everyday about how you feel, because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7) Your spending problem, swearing and other habits will fall off as you make time to come to God for daily bread for your spirit.

The Word of God will teach you, and the Holy Spirit will convict you as you spend time in a secret place with the most high God. (Psalm 91:1-2) Less TV, more JC. 😀

Invest in a Bible translation you can understand. (The King James Version with thys and thees isn’t for everybody.) Invest in Christian books – especially ones that are do with your specific sins, and ones where you would like to go next in life with God. (Leading and influencing your family perhaps?) God will show you a way past every temptation and guide you through life as you spend time on His Word. (1 Corinthians 10:13, Proverbs 3:5-6)

If you don’t know where to start reading, you can read the scriptures I have used throughout this comment. Try one a day until you finish them all. Or you can start reading the gospel of John (it details the heart of Jesus), the book of Proverbs (wisdom from God) or Romans (helps us understand how we are saved). Read them and do what the Word says. You will be blessed and see a change!

It been a long answer but I hope it helps. What do you think?

He loves you more than anything. 🙂

  4. **Sorry! Wrong scripture Romans 6:23. But Romans 10:9 still applies too!

  5. Hi Hazel!

Hope you are well. Just wanted to commend you for your courage to ask for help as not many people do.

Richard will be in contact with you very shortly but before he does I’ll share a little something with you.

Being God’s daughter is more than a simple prayer; it’s more than sustaining from swearing, cussing or spending. It is FAR greater than that.

The whole point Jesus came is so you could have life and have it more abundantly ( John 10 : 10 ) and to break the chains of the law of sin.

Staying away from sin using your own power means nothing to God, neither is it effective! If it were possible to keep away from sin, we wouldn’t need a saviour like Jesus. Even though the wages of sin is death, His gift to you is eternal life! (Romans 10:9)

The beauty of the cross is that it paid for ALL of your sins and more. Not only has it given you the opportunity to be free from the wages of sin but, it has reconciled you to the very hands who formed you. Your loving Father planned and formed you knowingly prepared. He knew you’d fall short, yet He still created you wonderfully!

When you say the “born again prayer”, you admittedly submit with the heart that you can’t save yourself and that you need Him to do the work. It’s a white flag moment where you say “Lord, I give up, I need you!”, not “I accept you, now I shall be good”. Being His child is all about accepting your weaknesses and asking Him to take control and change you inwardly.

So, take heart and know that you do not have to struggle on your own, take it to Him! We are all in the same fight! The last place He wants you to be is a place eternally separate from Him. Go boldly to His throne where He has rightfully given you access to and receive the grace and mercy that you need!

It’s all about having a relationship with Him.

    He loves you uncontrollably!

  6. Hello,i’m a lady of 62 almost. All my life I’ve attended church as well as frequently praying various Sinners Prayers asking Jesus to come into my life. The trouble is I’ve just carried on the way I used to be I haven’t truly repented.I’ve still gone my own way doing what I want.Swearing ,cussing, having a spending addiction as well as many other wrong things, therefore I know i’m not saved and Born Again.I want to be a Christian but I still want to go my own way.I like spending my money for instance on things I shouldn’t be and because of that I keep going into debt.
However recently again I’ve prayed a another sinners prayer but I just cant seem to repent,i still keep going back to wrong things.I really struggle in trying to change my ways, therefore does this mean God wont ever save me now…that i’m condemned to Hell when I die.

I attend a very Traditional church of England church which I love.I have tried churches where they’re Born Again Christians, including elim Pentecostal, baptist etc but I keep returning to the church of England as I much prefer traditional church.

Have you got any advice for me please.

    Yours Sincerely
    Hazel Wykes
