Bishop Dag Heward-Mills

Bishop Dag… A man of Godly charisma.

I thought you’d like to meet a wonderful man who I owe a lot of my life to. Dag Heward-Mills is an Evangelist, and the founding Bishop of Lighthouse Chapel International (LCI, the church I am attending for life). For over twenty years, Bishop Dag has been faithfully serving God in the ministry of LCI first in Ghana, and then in the rest of the world. He is an author of over 100+ Christian books such as Loyalty and Disloyalty, and The Art Of Leadership. He also began the Healing Jesus Crusade, an evangelistic crusade that has saved millions of souls.

To me, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills is just the most awesome man on Earth. πŸ™‚ He is a great example, and a huge inspiration to Christianity. I don’t think my life with Jesus Christ would be anything like it is without this man’s faithfulness to his calling from God, and his willingness to know and serve God.

Why I love Bishop Dag

There are a lot of reasons to love such an influential person, but I’ll give you a couple of my reasons. The first is that Bishop Dag loves the Lord, and loves to serve the Lord. The Bible says:

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
James 2:26

Since I was saved and joined LCI, I have had a passion – serving God to the fullest of my ability. I am convinced that I must use my abilities and strengths towards the promotion of Jesus Christ and His love. Using every fibre of my being, every talent, every gift, every drop of sweat towards bringing people to Christ is my ultimate goal. And you know what? I probably inherited it from Bishop Dag Heward-Mills! I am passionate about working for God, even to a fault. Bishop seems to be the same way. Since becoming born again in secondary school, he has been doing the work of a pastor. Today, he is a master preacher (my words, not his) and an international healing evangelist, striving for excellence in God’s perfect will.

Bishop Dag is passionate about serving God as much as knowing Him, and that is his dramatic appeal to me. In July 2008, I had the priviledge of travelling to another side of London to see the Bishop preach in a non-LCI church. He preached from his then-latest book, Know Your Men. Something dropped into my spirit that day about Bishop Dag. His knowledge of scripture, the passion in his demeanour, his cordial behaviour, even his appearance – I really admired him that day. I’ll never forget the way he took an offering so eagerly and shamelessly for this church – this word gets tossed around a lot, but it was powerful.

Another reason I love Bishop Dag is because of his fruits. Lighthouse Chapel International is the church he has started and is still fighting for. LCI is the church I belong to. Without LCI, I don’t know what my life would be like. It is through LCI I have been Born Again and have began a lovely relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Without LCI, I don’t think I would be saved.

Bishop Dag has fought tooth and nail for LCI and it shows. I have met so many great people who have affected my life immensely in LCI, most notably Bishop Richard Aryee, Reverend Michael Amoh, Pastor William Sasu, Lady Pastor Christiana McLean, Reverend Stephen Hyde, Amma Duodu, and Christopher Ekwuruke. They have influenced, counselled, and inspired me most in life, and do you know where they came from? Bishop Dag Heward-Mills! They are fruits of Bishop Dag.

Meeting Bishop Dag

Bishop Dag’s voice is not new to me – I’ve heard and watched him preached many times (but never too many). Meeting Bishop Dag personally is a different story. I’ve been in his presence a few times, and I’ve met and spoken to Bishop Dag personally twice in my lifetime. I would love the priviledge to meet him again and again, even to be his friend, but my second meeting with him in 2010 was definitely something special.

It was after a special service with Bishop Dag, at LCI’s main church (called Aparche). I waited to see him after the service, not for any particular reason… I just wanted to chat. I was fortunate enough to be called into the church’s office. It was brief, but our short exchange he told me something crucial for my life. As time as gone on, I can see the significance behind what Bishop Dag told me. (I’m not revealing it by the way. Can’t I have a secret? πŸ˜€ )

Many others, including my close friends, have had wonderful, long opportunities to speak with and befriend Bishop Dag. He is definitely an anointed, life-changing speaker!

Take it from me – if you want to know God and serve God better, consult Bishop Dag Heward-Mills today. Pick up a book, visit his website, listen to one of his sermons. In an age where so many people comfort in vain through TV, radio, and the internet, this man’s example and ministry will keep you steadfast if you will follow. πŸ™‚

  1. I must comment and shout loud that God’s servant Bishop Dag Heward-mills is anointed of the Holy Ghost.
The grace of God on him has affected and is really affecting me.
God is using him to change men’s understanding of the gospel as not just a feel good religion and a byway into comfort but that Christianity is call to service.
Bishop Drag became a father and master even though I haven’t
Bishop Dag loves God and the anointing of the Holy Ghost were the first things that attracted him to me when a friend invited me to attend his crusade while I was still in university in Nigeria.
Bishop Dag is raw. You should read and listen to him.

Thank you author for this great piece.

  3. Greetings in the wonderfull name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,My name is Maria Sheilla Sono from South Africa, I was introduced to Bishop Heward Mills sermons through a friend and I must say I have never been the same again, I am a 38 yr old lady and got born again when I was 10 yrs and have listened to many preachers but Bishop’s sermons have impacted me greatly I cannot explain, all I can say was when I listened I got so convicted because his messages do not entertain or make one feel good but I felt my spirit literally ripped out because now I faced with a teaching that even opened my eyes to somethings that I was not even aware they were not to be entertained.

Coupled with Ex-ministry’s Graige Lewis’s and John Bevere’s teaching about ungodly and christian wordly music and movies and after I listened to Bishop Heward, I was now clear, there was no excuse that these things(the world and God) do not go together, I destroyed and threw away everything from books(on relationships by unsaved writers)CD’S and DVD’S because I was clear that as children of God we do not have to receive counsel from the ungodly and we do not have to entertain ourselves with things the world enteretains itself with.

Ever since listening to his sermons and getting rid of ungodly things in my house, its like I am a new christian, my joy is complete, I am now able to resist the devil and he flees, something that was quiete impossible and I wondered why I was unable to have victory, but then I learned that it was because I had the devil’s stuff, now my life is more about God and I love seeking his face even more, I listen to sermons or Godly music and movies only.

I thank God for the men of God, I thank God mostly for Bishop Heward Mills whose preaching ripped off the altar of the devil in my life, cause as I was listening I literaly felt the altars of the devil being shaken and now it was upon me to complete the shake off by getting rid of his stuff so that he no longer has a hold on me, especially with worldy christian music and movies which I thought were not a problem but I realised thery were the devil’s doorway in my life cause the musicians and the actors lives are not totally homorable to God.

I THANK GOD FOR OPENING MY EYES AND I AM NOT GOING BACK TO A STAGE OF GIVING HIM A PLACE IN MY LIFE, MY CHRISTIAN LIFE IS DIFFERENT NOW.
